Building relationships with your baby in the womb is a crucial aspect of becoming parents. In our first antenatal class we enhance your understanding of bonding and attachment, discuss the importance of support networks, how to recognise baby cues, as well as the benefits of skin-to-skin contact and nurturing touch. At the end of our first workshop the quick relaxation technique of colour breathing will be taught to promote parental relaxation during this special time.

In our second antenatal parent preparation workshop we discuss the theory of the 4th trimester of pregnancy as a crucial time for baby brain development, nurturing and emotional regulation. We will discuss normal expectations for sleep, feeding and nappies. Practical topics like coping with crying, colic and tongue-tie will be explored. This parent workshop will emphasise the importance of help and parental emotional wellbeing. Finally a visualisation relaxation will be taught to support new parents during the antenatal period.

In our third antenatal parent workshop we begin by considering the Lullaby Trust safe sleep advice, helping parents learn essential baby safety advice. we then look at swaddling advice, safer bed sharing practices, car seat safety, and sling safety. Additionally, home and garden safety tips and pet safety considerations are covered. Parents are guided on what equipment to buy and what not to buy. Our antenatal class concludes with a full body relaxation technique which can be used to support parental wellbeing throughout the parent journey to come.

In our fourth antenatal parent workshop the importance of responsive feeding is a key topic as it highlights the significance of closeness between the caregiver and the baby. Positioning for breast and bottle feeding is also demonstrated, along with discussions about the frequency of feeding and understanding cluster feeding. In this parent workshop, participants will learn how to properly attach the baby to the breast or bottle, recognise the signs of good attachment and ensure safe preparation of formula. Additionally, different types of formula are discussed, along with tips for feeding out and about. The antenatal workshop will conclude with learning a square breathing relaxation to help new parents manage stress antenatally and postpartum.

In our fifth antenatal parent workshop we will learn about all the practical aspects of skincare in newborns. Face and ears care, eye care, and all about nappies are essential topics covered in this antenatal class. These baby care education sessions teach parents how to change a nappy, manage nappy rash and understand skincare and emollients. There will be a demonstration of how to bathe a baby. The session will end with a music relaxation which will benefit both parents and their unborn baby.
